In celebration of the 100th anniversary of its first production vehicle, Dodge announced two commemorative special editions for 2014. The Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition and Dodge Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition give drivers a way to celebrate with the brand. Both special editions include 20-in wheels, premium audio and unique design details, including 100th Anniversary badges.
For the 2014 Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition, buyers can choose either Chrysler's 3.6-liter V6 -- good for 300 horsepower -- or the more powerful 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which produces 370 hp. For its exterior, the 100th Anniversary Charger wears 20-in polished aluminum 5-spoke wheels. Wheel pockets are finished in a dark gray metallic shade, as is the matching crosshair grille insert. Commemorative badges on the fenders and wheel centers celebrate the brand's anniversary.
Inside, the 100th Anniversary Dodge Charger gets Nappa leather with contrasting stitching, a flat-bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters, more commemorative badges and specially embroidered seat backs and floor mats. A 10-speaker, 552-watt Beats by Dre audio system and Chrysler's Uconnect infotainment interface with an 8.4-in touchscreen are standard.
More subtle details are included, too. Speedometers for both the 100th Anniversary Dodge Charger and Challenger have "100" indicated in contrasting red. Drivers that like the muscle-car styling but want a distinctive version with exclusive details should consider the 100th Anniversary models. Dodge has already announced pricing: a $2,200 premium for the Charger and a $2,500 premium for the Challenger, compared with SXT Plus or R/T Plus models.
