On Friday 27 September 2013, double ended EMD cab unit A71 operated 9203 down freight to Warrnambool on the south west broad gauge mainline. Usually this train operates at night, so it was a rare opportunity to capture scenes of it in daylight hours.

The video commences with A71 powering upgrade past the cement plant at Waurn Ponds near Geelong and then a scene of the train passing Winchelsea station. The next locations are on the down side of Colac and then passing through the stone wall fencing near Pomborneit before arriving at Camperdown for a cross.

The final sequence of shots show this train thundering over the Mt Emu Creek bridge near Terang, powering out of a dip between Allansford and Warrnambool and finally approaching the Westvic siding just past Warrnambool on the former line to Koroit and Pt Fairy.

At the end of the video, I've included some shots I got on the way back from Warrnambool. N457 departs Terang with 8215 down Warrnambool pass, then I ventured over to the western standard gauge line about 40 mins to the north for CSR008 with 7922V up Dooen freight plus 6021 and 6007 with 6MA6 down Aurizon freight near Berrybank
