Bathinda / Chandigarh, Feb 02 (ANI): A powerful car blast in Maur Mandi constituency of Bathinda district on January 31 raised security concerns in poll-bound Punjab. At least 6 people were killed and many injured in the shocking incident, suspected to be carried out by a pro-Khalistan outfit. The IED blast was believed to be triggered by the Khalistan Commando Force, a militant organization backed by Pakistan’s dreaded Inter-Services Intelligence. External forces are making all attempts to destabilize Punjab and create trouble during the elections. They are aiming not to allow peaceful elections and disrupt the democratic process with violence. People of Punjab, especially the large number of Sikh NRIs, have condemned the attack and appealed to the perpetrators to keep away from the region. The incident happened just 4 days before the polls and indicates the deliberate attempt of anti-democratic forces to scare voters away from polling booths. However, the people of Punjab have rejected Khalistan decades ago and are enthusiastic to cast their votes and elect their representatives for a brighter future of the state.
