01 - Understanding Developmental Trauma - The Connection Survival Style

Описание к видео 01 - Understanding Developmental Trauma - The Connection Survival Style

In this video, Dr. May will offer a thorough explanation of the Connection Survival Style.

This style develops between conception through the first 6 months of life as a result of early shock or developmental/attachment trauma and feeling unloved, unprotected, rejected, isolated, or unsupported. As a result, you may later experience a conflict between wanting to connect with people but being afraid to connect. You may have too much hyperarousal (fear, anger, dread) or hypo-arousal (shame, depression) and cope by avoiding, dissociating, or intellectualizing.

At the end, several suggestions to and resources help you move toward healing are discussed.
