Instagram does not currently provide a dedicated feature to view your full notes history directly within the app. Once a note expires after 24 hours, it disappears from your profile view, and there’s no built-in archive specifically for notes. However, there are a couple of indirect ways to try and recover or check your past notes.

First, open the Instagram app and go to your profile. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner and select “Your Activity.” From here, you can open “Account History” to view changes made to your account. While this shows profile edits, logins, and other updates, Instagram does not list expired notes here — there’s no filter to view only your past notes.

The more reliable method is to download your account data. From your profile menu, go to “Account Center,” then choose “Your Information and Permissions,” and tap “Download Your Information.” Select “Download or Transfer Information,” choose your Instagram account, and tap “Next.” If you don’t see an option to filter specifically for notes, select “All Available Information.” This will request a complete copy of your Instagram data, which will be sent to your email or made available for download.

Once you receive the data file, you can search within it for any saved records of your past notes. While Instagram may not always include them in a neat, labeled section, some users have found old notes saved in certain message or activity logs within the downloaded archive.
