Mullein - Verbascum thapsus

Mullein is a plant that is often used medicinally, and it is also an introduced species in North America. In some areas its described as noxious and invasive, and it can outcompete some native species in some areas. A lot of grazing animals don't particularly like to eat it, and it can become established quickly in open clearing in forests and other disturbances. One plant can produce as much as 180000 seeds, and the seeds can remain viable for up to 100 years. Many people are very interested in this plant for its medicinal uses, and I hope people will also be aware of its potential to affect some ecosystems in a negative way.
