Hello, one and all! Thank you for watching our video on how to replace your Hyundai Genesis tail light. The removal process is highly important if you want to replace the rear bumper as well. There is a small bracket welded to the frame of the car that secures the rear bumper cover with a plastic pushpin. You have to remove this plastic clip to get the bumper completely off the car. This is a very easy process, so let's begin!

TOOLS NEEDED:
You will only need a 10mm wrench or socket wrench to remove the tail light nuts. You will also need a panel clip removal tool or two flat head screwdrivers for the plastic clips.

PROCESS:
This Hyundai tail light is much easier than the newer models because only metal nuts secure the light whereas the newer models have plastic pins and slides as well. This goes without saying, but you should open the trunk to things started. There is a plastic trim piece that goes along the top of the bumper that needs to be removed. There are plastic push pins that secure it on each far end. Remove these and pop off the trim from the frame. Now you need to loosen the trunk liner from the frame. There are two push pins and a plastic hook that screws into the frame. This is to hook the trunk net. Now you can peel the trunk liner/carpet away from the tail light to expose the nuts & bolts. This particular light is held on by 3 nuts on the tail light. Use your socket wrench to remove the nuts and you're now halfway there. Replace your tail light just work your way backward in the process.
