Homemade Drone Fishing Rig Catches Striper off Old Orchard Beach, ME

No need to show the build. It's painfully easy.
I mounted one of the kite clips in the link below to my DJI Phantom 4 Pro.

1. String a kite clip (seen in link below) between the landing gear of the drone. Tie fishing line between the the two landing gear with the clip strung across and hanging from the middle. Tie the line close to the rear of the skis and try not to hang the clip too low or with too much excess line. You want to avoid a situation where the kite clip line releases the bait and springs up and into the props.

These particular Kite clips are nice because you can easily remove the plastic piece that is used to adjust the release tension. This piece is unnecessary as you want the clip to release as easily as possible.

2. Fly the drone just above head high and clip the line to the kite clip in any way that keeps the line from tangling in itself or hitting the props. I had a swivel with an eyelid large enough to slide the kite clip through which was good enough. You can get creative and use whatever works best with your rig.

3. Open your rod's bail to let the drone take the line out. Use the drone to monitor distance if you know how much line you have to work with.

4. Close the bail when you're ready to drop the bait. This will cause tension on the line. Drive the drone up and away from the line at the same time and the clip should break free and the line and bait should fall into the water.

This is very risky if you are inexperienced and/or operating in non-ideal conditions. Please be careful!
