As promised, here's a deep dive into the Temu starfish and furry keyrings. Before making these videos I always think there's a good chance all the items are normal so there's nothing to report. But so far, each product has been surprisingly entertaining with a mixture of real and fake. The strangest part is that they're sold using near-identical product images and at the same price points so it's basically impossible to tell. I would imagine that real fur is more expensive but for some reason it seems more common to sell real tails as fake. The only other way to spot real from fake is a tiny difference in texture. Real fur has slightly coarser long hairs and softer short hairs. The fake one has the same texture throughout.

As mentioned in the video, I don't think the use of real or fake has an impact on the functional purpose of the product. So there's nothing that would make the item more dangerous or potentially harmful to use. However it's obviously misleading for the consumer if they knowingly want to avoid buying real fur products. I'm also at a loss what kind of fur that could be. I think it's too long to be rabbit or dog and too grey to be fox.
