RLE stands for Refractive Lens Exchange and it is also called CLE (Clear Lens Extraction).
In this surgery, the natural lens of the eye is replaced with a clear artificial lens (IOL-Intra Ocular Lens).

He was denied a specs removal surgery by many other hospitals including AIIMS-Delhi.
