Nintendo Promotional VHS part 8 of 10: Banjo-Kazooie (1998)

In an effort to push video content out to its consumers in the mid to late 90s, Nintendo distributed VHS tapes, often free of charge, via mail and retail outlets. These videos showcased select games and consoles in an attempt to market them to target audiences using contrived plots and over-the-top actors.

This video (part 8 of 10) presents "Banjo-Kazooie" that Nintendo distributed in 1998 to announce its latest N64 collaboration with Rare. Once again, actors and plots are scrapped in favor of the more straightforward approach of a narrator (who sure sounds a lot like Jon Lovitz) who explains the game's premise and play mechanics over footage of actual game play. Viewers are urged to rent the game at Block Buster Video and finally treated to a sizzle reel of coming attractions on N64.
