FANS DRESS UP FOR COMIC CON BUENOS AIRES
Comic-Con pop culture convention opened in Buenos Aires on Saturday with thousands of fans streaming to the culture extravaganza event.
The three-day festival joins together pop culture producers such as comic artists, games designers and music.
Pop-culture aficionados like Matias Rodriguez dressed up as Batman's villain 'the Penguin' to meet others showing off their costumes and attending panels.
" It's great fun meeting everyone and finding good and bad guys of your same comic while getting fully into your character," he said.
Visitors also waited in queues to get an autograph of Argentine fantasy artist Gustavo Cabral, known as Ciruelo.
More than 40,000 fans attended the event last year, according to organizers, who expect to double that figure in 2015.
"Everything we call pop-culture has a strong impact in Argentina," said Roberto Schenone, an organizer.
" I think an event of this magnitude like this was missing for these people."
