RJD's Tejaswi Yadav has responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for an apology regarding abusive remarks made about his mother from the stage of the 'voter adhikar yatra'. Yadav termed the issue a "drama to divert minds of the voters from vote theft." In a counter-attack, he accused the Prime Minister of previously campaigning for Prajwal Rewanna, and brought up past comments, including the "50 crore girlfriend" jibe, which was a reference to Shashi Tharoor's late wife, and an instance of Nitish Kumar's DNA being questioned. While condemning personal attacks, Yadav stated, "no one's mother should be abused. We are not in favour of this." He further alleged that BJP leaders have also made derogatory remarks against opposition figures and their families in the past.
