Materials:
20 Gauge wire (steel or copper work)
A bead

Tools:
Wire cutter
Round nose pliers
A roll to shape the ring (I use the inside of an eftpos paper roll or a lip balm tube)

Steel VS Copper wire rings rings:

Steel - steel is quite a hard wire and a little tougher to work with than copper, but I have found it to make generally stronger rings than copper does. one thing to watch out for is that steel can indeed rust where as copper wire with a plating does not generally rust.

Copper - working with copper is easier, the wire bends easily and shapes very well, overall copper rings tend to be a tiny bit more fragile and plated copper wire has the tendency to tarnish to that coppery colour even if the roll says tarnish resistant.

Both have pros and cons so use whatever is best for you.

My experience with this ring design:

I work in a bead shop and this ring design is by far one of the best sellers in the shop. This ring is easy to make, requires minimal materials and the adjustable design makes it a great piece to buy/make for yourself or friends without needing to think about sizing.
