India delivered a sharp rebuke to Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council, demanding immediate action to stop terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) from using Afghan soil for cross-border terror operations.

Speaking at the UNSC session on Afghanistan, India’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, said the international community must unite to prevent Pakistan-backed terror networks from exploiting instability in Afghanistan. He underlined that New Delhi has a “paramount interest” in peace and stability in Afghanistan, pointing to India’s extensive humanitarian and developmental assistance, including 50,000 tons of wheat, medicines, relief materials, and over 500 infrastructure projects across the country.

India also highlighted its commitment to working with Kabul and international partners for peace while condemning terror groups that destabilize the region. With Pakistan’s role once again exposed on the global stage, India has made it clear: terrorism from Afghan soil backed by Islamabad is unacceptable.
