In early April, ACT received a photo from someone who was traveling on a mountain road just outside Taipei, and it was very saddening. I was of a young black dog with a gin trap hanging from her foot, which it was biting deeply into. She had fallen victim to a cruel poachers' leg-hold trap.

We dispatched a rescuer, who set up a humane trap and trail camera at the location of her most recent sighting. Unfortunately, both failed to catch the maimed stray, but we did catch her soon after (see video after this one). But the camera did get some footage of other stray and wild animals who were interested in the food inside our humane trap. We put the clips together to create a short video of all the goings-on at our trap.

We've named the badly injured dog Jinny and she is currently at the vet awaiting treatment. You can stay updated on her progress and story via the ACT blog:
