Through my professional and coaching life, my decision making process has evolved. This video shares the lessons and provides context for improving our own processes.

It starts with a basic problem solving process. When we started teaching Design of Experiments (DOE), we realized people needed a framework for implementing and interpreting. However, we quickly realized we needed to go deeper.

With basketball coaching, we needed to teach young players (elementary through high school) decision making. This refined my thoughts on the topic.

As my consulting began, teaching basic statistics missed the point. I needed to spend time creating a decision making framework for these professionals.

Eventually, through Behavioral Grooves (podcast and group), I heard about Annie Duke and her book, Thinking In Bets. This became a part of my training courses.

In 2025, a friend mentioned the Cynefin Framework to me. When I didn't know anything about it, he said "you should." After some research, it explained many things from my past and helped with situations I was currently facing. It was another game changer!
