• look for = try to find something/someone
• look through = examine items systematically

• look after = take care of someone/something
• look out for = watch for danger OR protect someone
• look out! = urgent warning (immediate danger!)
• look to = rely on someone for help/guidance

🔬 INVESTIGATING:
• look into = investigate formally/thoroughly
• look at = observe or examine
• look over = review quickly for errors
• look around = explore a place OR consider options

👀 APPEARANCE:
• look like = resemble OR seem probable
• look + adjective = appear to be (tired, happy, worried)
• look as if/as though = seem to be (with uncertainty)

⏰ ANTICIPATION:
• look forward to = anticipate with pleasure (+ GERUND!)
• look ahead = plan for the future
• look back = reflect on the past

🎓 RESPECT & JUDGMENT:
• look up to = admire and respect (positive)
• look down on = regard as inferior (negative)
• look on/upon = regard in a particular way

🧭 DIRECTION:
• look back = turn to see behind OR reflect on past
• look in the face/eye = confront honestly
• look the other way = deliberately ignore wrongdoing

👁️ ATTENTION:
• look in on = visit briefly to check on someone
• look the other way = pretend not to see (negative)

💡 IDIOMS:
• look on the bright side = be optimistic
• look alive = hurry up / be alert
• look sharp = be quick OR dress well
• never look back = continuous success after change
• look here = get attention (often annoyed)

🆚 COMMON MISTAKES:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

❌ "I look forward to see you" → ✅ "I look forward to seeing you"
(After preposition "to" use GERUND, not infinitive!)

❌ "You look like tired" → ✅ "You look tired" OR "You look like you're tired"
(look + adjective OR look like + noun/clause)

❌ "Look my keys" → ✅ "Look for my keys" OR "Look at my keys"
(need preposition!)

❌ "I look up my teacher" → ✅ "I look up to my teacher"
(admire = look up TO, not just look up)

❌ "Things are looking down" → ✅ "Things are looking up"
(improving = looking UP, not down)

🎯 GRAMMAR FOCUS:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

⚠️ LOOK FORWARD TO + GERUND (not infinitive!)

✅ I'm looking forward to seeing you
✅ She looks forward to working here
✅ We look forward to the meeting

❌ I look forward to see you
❌ She looks forward to work here

Why? Because "to" is a PREPOSITION, not part of infinitive!
After prepositions, use -ING form.
