This week, I’m back with episode 4 of Lost Skate Spots and I’m covering the city of Rowlett's biggest blunder, Rowlett skatepark AKA "SkateZone". As with the Eisenbergs episode, I indexed the video by parts which are explained in the beginning. I loved this park and I hope I did it justice! Big thanks to everyone who shared their stories and videos/pictures of the park!
Side note: I also want to mention that it's been a few years since we lost local legend Chase Duckworth and my huge fear with speaking about him publically at the time was that the people closest to him would feel I was bandwagoning since that often happens when someone passes. I had left a comment on a post once around that time reminiscing but I didn't say too much more. I say all of this because even though I wasn't super close to him, he changed my life via skateboarding, (which I go in-depth about in this video towards the end.) I'm not even sure if he knew how much he impacted me skating. He was a huge part of what made this park so special and Dallas skateboarding in general. I hope I didn't overstep my bounds with speaking about him or including his photo in the thumbnail, but I couldn't make a video about Rowlett skatepark without remembering Chase. We miss you, brother.
