The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing the district, Arc Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, has empowered 100 constituents with solar home systems.

The distribution, carried out in collaboration with the National Productivity Centre (NPC), aims to boost access to reliable electricity, enhance security in vulnerable communities, and support economic activities at the grassroots.

Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, Mr. Alabi Yunus Omotosho, who delivered the opening remarks, praised Senator Ashiru’s unwavering dedication to community upliftment.

He noted that the solar kits will significantly improve the quality of life for residents facing electricity challenges.

Another SLA to the Senate President, Mr. Ogundele James, urged beneficiaries to utilise the solar systems responsibly, stressing that the project was conceived to deliver long-term social and economic benefits.

Other aides, including Mr. Ismail Jimoh and Comrade Salaudeen Habeeb Kunle, also lauded Senator Ashiru’s consistent empowerment programmes, describing him as a grassroots-focused leader whose interventions continue to transform lives.

Beneficiaries across the district expressed heartfelt appreciation for the lawmaker’s sustained support. Youth leader Arch. Adewumi Emmanuel of Osi Ward 1 applauded his commitment to youth development, while Prince Ogunbiyi Olumide Peter commended the senator’s compassion and responsive leadership during past security challenges.

From Oke Ode in Ifelodun LGA, Mr. Ahmed Abdulrasak and Mr. Ahmed Abdulwaheed also thanked Senator Ashiru for setting a positive example for emerging leaders through his people-centred initiatives.

The solar project was executed by Pridebuild Construction Nigeria Limited under the close supervision of the National Productivity Centre (NPC).
