"So I just finished..." Is a video series where I take a look at a different game each week, creating a pseudo-review/guide for you guys. Think a mix between the Completionist and Superbutterbun's For Beginners.

So, my rating system - How does it work? Well, it's still a work in progress of sorts, however I've got five different ratings I can give out. From highest to lowest, we have the Platinum Star, the Gold Star, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and the Participation Star. This may not be a permanent rating system, names could change, however my criteria for the five ratings will remain the same.

The purpose of this series is for me to finish the main campaign of a game, so my basis comes from my enjoyment of each game and how easy it was to pick up the game and jump back in - Did the game really make me want to keep playing? Was the game mechanically sound? Traditional review criteria, etc.

A Participation Star is for games that... well, they exist. They don't do anything spectacular or capture my interest - They probably did something pretty bad to end up down here, or perhaps some mechanics just failed spectacularly. This is for those rare games that are so bad, well... They're bad.

A Bronze Star is for games that, while they weren't all that great to experience, still gave me something positive to talk about. In a traditional review, this would be around a 3 to 5 stars on a scale. Games here might not be that amazing to play through, but there was something there that amused me enough to keep them from the lowest score.

A Silver Star is for middle-of-the-road games that have a nice balance between what they did well and what they did badly, though normally this balance is skewed towards the positive side of things, as opposed to the negative. A lot of games will probably fall under here, the further into this show I go.

A Gold Star is for games that have exceeded expectations, to showcase great gameplay and an enjoyable presentation. These games were fun to play through and deserve the praise they receive, and I would be quick to recommend them to all of you in turn, though there may be one or two things that I dislike, that keep it from the highest mark.

A Platinum Star goes to games that really make a mark on me, as a player. There are so many games out there that only a few will resonate with me across each year. This mark goes to those games that 100% I know will stick with me for years to come, games I know I'll probably pick up and play again, or games that are just so remarkable in what they do, or give me such a fresh experience, that I can't help but give it the top rank.

These ratings are all very subjective of course, it's based on my playthrough and not everyone will agree. Such is the fun of video games, after all. And I don't urge you to take these ratings too seriously - Because it's about enjoying the games themselves, not the shiny star they get at the end of the video.
