"On the Clock" with Arlington's Recycling Program

The episode, hosted by City Manager Trey Yelverton, gives residents a behind-the-scenes look at how curbside recycling is gathered, sorted and reused.

With 90 percent of Arlington homes participating in the City's curbside recycling program, residents are serious about protecting the environment while also extending the life of the City's landfill.

In 2018, crews picked up 23,000 tons of recyclables in Arlington neighborhoods. City Manager Yelverton was invited to join a crew on collection day and even run the truck's pick-up claw.

After the recycling was collected, the crew headed to the Materials Recycling Facility. It's here the items are sorted and bailed.
