Relief for Waqf Properties: Minister Azharuddin Welcomes 3-Month Extension for UMEED Registration

Telangana Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin has expressed gratitude for the three-month extension granted by the Waqf Tribunal for the registration of properties in the UMEED portal. He welcomed the tribunal’s decision and directed the officials to register all the 16,000 institutions that have not been registered in the next three months. Addressing a press conference at the secretariat, Muhammad Azharuddin said that there were several technical flaws in the portal. The trustees did not have the information in the beginning. Due to several problems, the records of the properties were not registered in the stipulated time. The minister said that now is enough time. The administration has also become aware of everything. The remaining data will be uploaded before the stipulated time. Adviser to the government Muhammad Ali Shabbir stressed on 100 percent registration of Waqf properties and said that registration of all mosques and Ashura Khanas in rural areas is necessary. The Telangana Waqf Board has completed the registration of 74 percent of the properties, but a large number of mosques, graveyards, Ashura Khana, have not been registered yet. The trustees had concerns and there were legal complications, Mohammad Ali Shabbir also suggested continuing the awareness campaign. On this occasion, Syed Ghulam Afzal Bayabani Khusro Pasha, Chairman of the State Hajj Committee, Mohammad Fahim Qureshi, Secretary Minority Welfare Shafiullah, CEO of the Waqf Board Asadullah and others were present.
