The Ondonga King - The King's Speech

Описание к видео The Ondonga King - The King's Speech

Whilst the proceedings of the cultural rituals of Ondonga were performed, I observed that the Community cheered with ululation whereas some are amused with light laughter. Some made light laughter and some clapped hands as I was herein handed a Spear (Egonga2). Be assured, that the Spear3 was not handed to me that I stab anyone therewith. I was but handed a Spear4 in fulfilment to our ancestors' proverb that: The spear is without bad intent but part of the warrior’s attire to be used only if necessary: 'Mbozi nande ita lyana, nakale nga ena ongona.

I was dressed with Onkutuwa (beltlike attire), I was symbolically invested with the authority over Ondonga but this does not proffer that: I am to exercise autocratic power. There are indeed those, in whom the authority over Ondonga is vested, and with whom I am obliged to perform my duties alongside. Those who analyse and refine, and so that it may ultimately be proclaimed that these are in order, and that these are the dictates emanating from Omukwaniilwa.

Presently as we compare with the past, it is a difficult task to a youthful Omukwaniilwa such as I am, however I am not fearful of the task because during my lifetime I experienced the actions of the one who was despotic and the actions of another whom I experienced to be compassionate and merciful. 'Onda mwene kayamukulwa, ngaye onda mwene Osimu mokana. I have learnt the good and the bad.

I have during my lifetime rendered services to three Ministries, which I do not wish to overlook here. I have been employed by the Ministry responsible for the NDF21, wherein I served as a soldier from operating duties as a stretcher until serving as a senior officer. I thank you for your assistance in enabling me to overcome difficulties as a result of the tough military training I received.

I shall continue our cooperation with you by abiding by the legal requirements and observing justice as you have well advised. I shall continue to seek your counsel ultimately in your capacity as Minister of Justice vested with the responsibility to oversee the community courts. We shall strive to deliver in order not to frustrate your work. We thank you greatly dear friend, and had we been able to, alas, we no longer have much elephants in Ondonga, we would have shown our gratitude by commissioning an elephant for you to chase around.

I am grateful for your guidance. I know that you would stand by me, as you have been alongside me ever since my Great-Uncle, Omukwaniilwa, had been alive. I know we shall journey together until that my time to join the ancestry comes and will be succeeded by others.
Each duty towards Ondonga placed upon me as stated today, I would attend to. And that those who would follow should be given an impression that, indeed, here were talents at music organs and credits at life.37 I would leave the impression of job well done.
