Vegetative Propagation of Medicinal Plant on Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Wall. ex Nees)

Layman's Abstract: This study aimed to see how different positions of stem cuttings affect the growth and yield of sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata), a plant widely cultivated in Indonesia. The research was done at Purwodadi Botanic Garden from February to May 2017. The experiment used stem cuttings taken from three parts of the plant: the top, middle, and bottom (basal). The results showed that cuttings taken from the top of the plant grew the best, producing the most leaves, roots, and overall plant weight. On the other hand, cuttings from the bottom of the plant had the poorest growth. In conclusion, using top stem cuttings for growing sambiloto resulted in the highest plant survival and growth.
