Ant Hut Modular formicarium Review

I wanted to do a review of this kit for anyone that hasn't seen it before.

These Module kits provided by @AntHut are brilliant little nests that slot together easily. With four ports one on each side the possibilities are limitless. They are biodegradable, recyclable and 3D printed.

Each Module comes with a red film (some ants see this as the dark) and a lid, they also come with a black stopper for each port so you can block any you are not going to use.

It comes with a hydration section that slots on the bottom, fill this with the medium he sends you and away it goes, there's also a little gap for any heating cable you may be using.

All in all I think this is a great design and I was really eager to have one. The compact size is very handy if your ant areas are getting full like mine or alternatively great for  founding Colonies using the feeding ports to feed them keeps it easy and clean.

another use I have considered is as a junction box. With the multiple ports you can connect more nests or outworlds easily using standard 10mm tube.


With this package I also got two water towers, 3 little feeding ports that slot right in easy. Also a temp and humidity monitor that fits in the ports easy with a clip to secure it in place, this came with a cool little stand for the monitor aswell for a stand up viewing position. Also a length of tube.
