The emotional Level of Design | UX Design Tips

Описание к видео The emotional Level of Design | UX Design Tips

The difference between a UX and UI designer is quite drastic. But it has become so common that no one really asks this question anymore. UI designer deals with the graphics. They are the artists. UX designers deal with the experience. The usability and how to make your product easy to use. Well, there is another layer of design that is often ignored in the community of UX design.

Dr. Don Norman framed the concept of the three levels of design: visceral, behavioral, and reflective.

The visceral level is about its appearance. It’s the natural response that we have for the aesthetics features.

The behavioral level is about its use. How easy it is to use and how smooth is the whole experience.

The reflective level is about our feelings. How we feel about a design. A personal connection and a relationship between the product and its users.
Though the emotional level of design is not often talked about, it will undoubtedly create a massive impact on how far your product will go.
Here are some tips I have about emotional design.

The first is that you need to think about what sets your product out from your competitors. Give it a character. A professional style, or an adorable illustration style. Choose your colors carefully and apply that character throughout your design.

Secondly, make it more personal for the users. Make them feel special as if the app is designed especially for them.

Thirdly, add socialization. People would feel more related if they can interact with their friends and find a thread between the digital and the real world.

I hope this was helpful.
