Christopher Ho Kim, BS, a Biomedical Ethics Research Program Intern at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, reviews his article appearing in the August 2025 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where he suggests standardizing processes and frameworks for guiding transplant selection committees would enhance balanced and consistent organ allocation among selection of transplant candidates seeking to get on the waitlist. He describes 4 group-decision-making theories and elaborates on the most commonly used format of consensus-based decision-making.
