Hey a few months ago I was asked to make a video about the 3 types of Gene-Environment correlation. It took me some time but here it is. The link to the original gene-environment correlation video can be found in the description.

The three types of genotype environment correlation are active, passive and reactive.
We talked about active or also called the selective genotype environment correlation in the original video. It’s basically individuals seeking out environments that support their genetic tendencies. So for example someone with violence tendencies seeking out a gang to join. This is referred to as niche picking.

Passive genotype-environment correlation occurs when children passively inherit the genes and the environments their family provides. So for example let's take a very athletic family, the dad plays football and the mom plays hockey. The children in this case would have inherited both the genes and the environment that encourages them to engage in sports.

Finally we have reactive genotype-environment correlation. It refers to the association between an individual’s genetically influenced behaviour and others’ reactions to that behaviour. We talked a bit about it in the original video. Let's take the kid from the first scenario, his violent tendencies could make his classmates avoid him, so his bevaiour would evoke avoiding behavior from his classmates.Or let's say you are a very shy person, a teacher might treat you in a different way than let's say an extrovert kid.
