Unlock your inner detective and find the criminal

🧪Step 1 - Press and roll a fingertip into the ink pad and repeat on a piece of white paper
🧪Step 2 - Compare with a classification sheet
🧪Step 3 - To find hidden fingerprints take the film and remove the backing, stick the adhesive side onto the object and peel. You will have removed the fingerprint and be able to compare with the fingerprints you have taken.

#Tip - also try sticky tape!

⚗️The science

Every single person on the planet has a unique fingerprint which is why they're important in investigations as criminal scene investigators (CSI) use fingerprints to identify criminals.
Fingerprints are made of three patterns - arch, loop and whorlwhich can be divided into sub-groups. The reason we have fingerprints is to provide grip which stops items slipping out of our hands but leaves a fingerprint behind even if we can't see it with our naked eye.
