Il-2 Sturmovik - Engine, Construction & Performance

Описание к видео Il-2 Sturmovik - Engine, Construction & Performance

Il-2 Sturmovik is very popular Soviet plane from the Second World War. It became such due to its survivability and later on due to one of the best flying simulators ever released named after it.
The Black Death or the Concrete Plane as it was famous among German pilots, was built into more than 36 000 copies in both single and dual-seat variants.
Its engine AM-38F was capable of 1700hp and its useful load was nearly 2 tons.
Despite being slow, sluggish and outdated for its time, Il-2 became a legend.
In this video I will draw a parallel with Sukhoi Su-25 Rook, which seems to have the same design and features. Su-25 also follows in the steps of the #IL2 #Sturmovik and is on the path to become the same indestructible legend of the War in Ukraine.
Both planes are Soviet made and the ideas and mentality behind their design is pretty much equal.
I hope you'll enjoy!
