Weaving Rainbows! The easy way to wind a complex RAINBOW warp on a Rigid Heddle Loom! COLOR FUN!

Do you love complex color work on woven scarves and projects? OMG! I sure do! And believe it or not - it's not difficult to do some fantastic color work with a systematic approach to warping and weaving that gives gorgeous results!

Here's a weaving project that I really love! You already know I love yarn, and I love color! I love combining those two things into complex and glorious warps... and then weaving with it! The results are amazing! And it isn't nearly as challenging as you might think. It just requires extra time - no worries - but the process is simple and FUN because COLOR is FUN! And if you don't like how it's going, it's not that difficult to make some small changes and shifts that make a big difference.

Here are some problems you could encounter when creating a complex warp, and in this video I show you how to fix each situation:
Weaving with 20 thread colors got you overwhelmed? I show you how to set up your project for success!
What happens when you're missing one warp thread? Stay calm, I show you how to fix this.
What happens when I don't like the placement of a few thread colors? Make some subtle shifts for big improvements!
What happens when one warp thread is too short? Simple changes can rearrange a few threads and fix the problem without a fuss!
Don't despair! There is never a problem with a warp that can't be fixed pretty simply! Stay calm and get creative! And since you are creative or you wouldn't be watching my video - you're good!

Earlier this year, I took the time to warp a very complex color combination on my rigid heddle loom, and here's how it went. I started by setting out the colors and creating a visual framework to start with, then continued filling in the heddle going very patiently color by color. I show you how I refined the colorway in places where I wasn't happy with it, followed by getting the tension right and then weaving the cloth.

And... here's what it looks like felted! YAY! I'm not yet sure what I'm going to use the various pieces of this fun cloth for, but I'm sure that it will be lovely in the end - whatever it is! Maybe a vest? Maybe a handbag? It doesn't really matter at the moment, having this cloth makes me so happy!

I'm weaving with Palette wool from Knitpicks, as well as some Highland Cones from Harrisville Designs, both are 100% wool. They are different weights, but close enough that it didn't matter.
