Spending some time in the caldera at Yellowstone National Park. If you ever needed a reminder that volcanoes are among us, this is the place to go. I take a hiking tour through the North Geyser Basin and the Lower Geyser Basin. I visit Old Faithful (yes, I know, it's a tourist thing) - it was a half-hour wait for it to spout - more gentle than I remember as a kid but worth seeing. At the very end is a calm sunrise in the Grand Teton Mountains. A spectacular drive, great views everywhere . . . a return visit for some hiking is in my future.
