Over at the National Assembly,…
Lawmakers failed to issue a joint report on the outcome of the confirmation hearing for prime minister nominee Lee Nak-yon.
Causing the hold up were criticisms from the opposition party over ethical matters.
The main opposition Liberty Korea Party hammered the PM designate over an allegation that his wife falsely registered an address to a better position as an art teacher.
Lee already admitted that allegation was true,… but that wasn't enough to stop the critics… .
They viewed it as a direct contradiction to the key principles President Moon vowed to uphold while campaigning.
The special committee is undecided on when to further discuss the matter.
With the delay, the a full floor vote on the nominee during next Monday's regular session appears highly unlikely.
