मुग डाळ हलवा

Today’s recipe is a popular dessert moong dal halwa. This turns out perfectly like the one that we enjoy in buffet. The ingredients are very basic and I am sure those are readily available in your pantry. The color, texture and aroma make this dessert to stand out. This halwa just melts in mouth. This is a little time-consuming recipe. But as the result is super delicious, it is a must try recipe. Though is a little heavy on stomach, but you just can’t miss it. We already have seen different halwa recipes. This is yet another delicious addition to the list. You can try this recipe at home and write to me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup Moong dal
• 1/2 cup Ghee
• 1 tsp Besan
• 1 tsp Rava
• 1/2 cup Water
• 1/2 cup Sugar
• Saffron water
• Cardamom powder
• Chopped Dry nuts (Cashew nuts and Almonds)

Method:
• Wash moong dal really good and soak it in enough water for an hour.
• Drain all the water from it and spread on a clean cotton cloth.
• Dry it under fan for about 10-12 minutes.
• Transfer the moong dal into a blender jar and blend it into coarse paste.
• Heat up a pan on medium heat and add ghee.
• Add besan and rava and roast it really good until it turns it nice and aromatic.
• Add the blended moong dal and mix well.
• Roast the mixture really good on medium heat for about 8-10 minutes.
• Heat up water in a pan and add sugar.
• When sugar melts completely and water begins to boil, add saffron water and cardamom powder
and mix well.
• When the mixture begins to boil, turn off the gas.
• When the moong dal mixture is almost roasted, add dry nuts and mix well.
• Roast it well together until moong dal turns crunchy and ghee begins to release from it.
• Add the sugar syrup and mix well.
• Cook until all the water is absorbed for about 3-4 minutes.
• When all the water is absorbed and ghee is released from it, turn off the gas and moong dal halwa
is ready.
