I decided to lock in and start on the main Kaifeng story quest which has lead me to the first campaign boss Dao Lord. Honestly I won’t really have as much to say about them because it’s a pretty simple fight and was a lot easier than expected. This attempt was my first time making it into phase 2 and I didn’t think the fight would end after I defeated the 3 Dao Lords, I figured they would group back into one again or something. Because of this P2 is pretty messy but it’s not a super great phase anyway, just a gank fight so it’s a massive downgrade from P1. The part where they burrow underground and you shoot them also feels like a time waster as you have to hit them all TWICE before they all reappear. You can’t even defeat them in this phase either, even if they have 0 HP. Phase 1 of this fight is better because there are some more consistently parry opportunities but I also have issues with it too because some of the tells are hard to see. Their combos are fairly consistent for the most part but they aren’t anything amazing. Out of all of them I’d say the initial spinning they start with is the most satisfying and fun combo to parry in the entire fight. Overall its just an average fight that would rank on the lower end of bosses so far
