what SqlDataSource in asp.net?
The SqlDataSource Control. The SqlDataSource control represents a connection to a relational databasesuch as SQL Server or Oracle database, or data accessible throughOLEDB or Open Database Connectivity(ODBC). Connection to data is made through two important properties ConnectionString and ProviderName.

What is GridView?
The GridView control is a feature rich and versatile control used to accept, display, and edit data on a web page. It is a commonly used control in ASP.Netweb applications. To use a GridViewcontrol a DataSource control has to be attached to the GridView control.
