From the Pink City of Jaipur, the 19th edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival 2026 concluded with five days of powerful conversations, global perspectives and cultural celebration. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious literary gatherings, JLF once again brought together writers, thinkers, artists, performers and readers from across the globe. Hosted at Hotel Clarks Amer, the four-day festival featured over 300 sessions and nearly 500 speakers from 40+ countries, covering themes ranging from fiction and poetry to history, science, culture, economics and geopolitics. The festival’s energy was driven not just by celebrated names, but by the enthusiastic participation of ordinary visitors — especially young audiences, who turned up in large numbers.

Among the prominent voices were actor and author Stephen Fry, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Anne Applebaum, and renowned social thinker Sudha Murty, who spoke about the role of youth in shaping society and the nation.

One of the most discussed moments was Booker Prize-winning author Banu Mushtaq and her work The Hurt Lamp, highlighting how writing becomes a voice of resistance in times of injustice.

Speaking to OneIndia, Sanjay K. Roy, Founder of Teamwork Arts and curator of JLF, said that making literature fashionable and contemporary is key to connecting Gen-Z with reading.
As the curtains fall on JLF 2026, the world leaves Jaipur inspired — by stories that move, conversations that challenge, and voices that continue to shape a brighter, more imaginative future.
