Do you remember the craze around “Buy Tickets like you bought Toilet paper”? Did you know it is Virgin Atlantic's Captain Chris Pohl that you have to thank for it? Well, actually it was his son who came up with the idea, but we are giving Chris the credit – and a coveted AeroTime Aviation Achievement Award for his dedication to aviation and the support he has given to so many people.

A year ago, Captain Chris didn’t know what Instagram was and now he has a growing following and an inbox swelling to over 300 DM’s a day – and he answers them all, helping the next generation of aviators, supporting those people having a tough time during the pandemic and generally being an all-round top guy!

As one of the airline’s most senior captains with the responsibility of training pilots on the Airbus A330 and the Airbus A350, Captain Chris believes in the resilience of aviation. “Chaos creates opportunity and right now, aviation is in chaos, but every time there's been any chaos, it comes back bigger and better than before.”
