"SUMMER IN THE CITY"
Nur 5 km vom Stadt Zentrum , dem Stephansplatz - liegt in gerader Linie (über den breiten Boulevard der Lasallesstraße die "Alte Donau".
( Nach Ferdinand Lasalles, Jurist und sozialistischer Aktivist 1865).- Nach der '"Reichsbrücke" , die seit der Donauregulierung 1870, mit einem Damm von der Donau getrennt ist: die "Alte Donau". Einst war dieser Arm der Hauptarm der Donau, ist aber nun ein stehendes Biotop Wiens vom ca. 6 km Länge und ca. 300 m Breite. Der Ruder Club, Segelschulen, sowie Bootsverleih haben sich dort etabliert. Der Name Kaisermühlen ( für die Ortschaft die zwischen den Donauarmen entstand und heute im 22. Wiener Gemeinde Bezirk liegt), kommt von den Mühlen - Schiffsmühlen - die damals hier in der Donau für Wien und den Hof Mehl mahlten. Die "Reichsbrücke", wichtigste Donaubrücke Wiens, entstand von 1872 bis 1876 als „Kronprinz-Rudolf-Brücke“, im Zuge der Donauregulierung (ähnlich der Kettenbrücke in Budapest), wurde 1937 neu gebaut und nach ihrem Einsturz (!) am 1. August 1976 im Jahr 1980 abermals neu errichtet. (Im Film am Ende! Hier auch die "Franz von Assisi Kirche"1913, Quasi das Symbol zur Televisions-Serie "SOKO DONAU")
Nach der Donauregulierung von 1870 bis 1875 verschwanden zwangsläufig die Donau Mühlen. Mit der Jahrhundertwende, wurde der neue Bezirk mit der Straßenbahn an den Stadtkern angebunden. 1979 wurde die UNO-City eröffnet. Am 3. September 1982 wurde an der Wagramer Straße die U-Bahn-Station Kaisermühlen eröffnet. (Diese U1 durchquert Wien von der nördlichen Stadtgrenze bis zu südlichen! )- Eine Insel in dieser "Alten Donau" ist das "Gänsehaufel", eines der ältesten Freibäder Wiens (1905 eröffnet).-

Only 5 km from the 'city center, St. Stephen's Cathedral - "KAISERMÜHLEN" is located in a straight line (on the wide boulevard of Lasallestreet and the Reichsbrücke to the the "Old Danube", which is separated by a dam on the Danube since the Danube regulation 1870. Once this arm was the main arm of the Danube, but is now a standing biotope in Vienna from about 6km length and 300 m width.
The rowing club , sailing schools, and boat rentals have become established there. The name Kaisermühlen (the former town, that arose between the Danube arms, lies today in the 22nd district of Vienna), comes from the mills - water mills - who worked that time here in the Danube for Vienna. The "Empire Bridge" important bridge over the Danube in Vienna, was from 1872 to 1876 as the "Crown Prince Rudolf Bridge" built, in the course of Danube regulation (similar to the Chain Bridge in Budapest), in 1937 newly built and after its collapse (!) on 1st August 1976. Again rebuilt in the year 1980th (You see the Bridge in the movie!) After the Danube regulation 1870-1875 inevitably disappeared Danube Mühlen. 1900 the new district was linked by tram to the city center. 1979 United Nations headquarters was opened. On 3 September 1982, "Kaisermühlen-Station" of the Underground Nr. 1, was opened at the Wagramerstraße. (This U1 crosses Vienna from the northern city boundary to the south!) An island in the "Old Danube" is the "Gänsehäufel", one of the oldest swimming areas for men and women in Vienna (1905 opened) .-
