This video is about the comic book Wonder Comics versus the pulp magazine Thrilling Wonder Stories, which were both science fiction (sci-fi) titles published by Ned Pines.

Both are presented in chronological order, starting with Wonder Comics, from 1947 to 1948, and followed by Thrilling Wonder Stories, from 1944 to 1955.

Although science fiction had been published before the 1920s, it did not begin to become a separately marketed genre until the appearance in 1926 of Amazing Stories, a pulp magazine published by Hugo Gernsback.

By the end of the 1930s the science fiction field was undergoing its first boom.

By 1955, the pulp magazine market was dying, pushed by rising paper costs, and competition from comic books and paperback novels, and Thrilling Wonder Stories stopped being published.
