I wanted to try out survival mode in Minecraft 1.18, but then I saw the Terralith data pack update supports 1.18. So I had to try it, and I decided to also play my first Hardcore Minecraft world, because why not?

What did I work on this time? I started on my melon and pumpkin farm below the trading hall, and produced enough so far for a couple pumpkin trades. I also dug back further in the trading hall and made contact with the ravine behind it, or maybe a bit of an attached cave.

For the future... I want to expand the pumpkin & melon farm under the trading hall, since those will be my main cash crop for quick emeralds and mending XP, but I'm going to need some dirt. (Reading up on melons and pumpkins, I see that the block they flop over onto can be coarse dirt, so I may be able to stretch my dirt supply by mixing some with some gravel.) Also, once I have a cartographer who will sell me blank maps, I want to map the shoreline of the ocean. And I definitely want to keep an eye out for spiders so I can get enough string to craft a bow and fishing rod. Building a walled-off hunting area might be a good idea, maybe with trap doors over fighting ports. I need to add a door into that aquifer if it spawns glow squid, so I can go in after them. Once I get a source for glow squid ink, I can start marking the signs for the Terralith biomes I've visited. And of course I need more diamonds. And once Optifine releases for 1.18.2 I plan to update the Terralith data pack to 2.1 to get the new structures as I explore further.

Long term... To do some dezombification will require some blaze rods, and that will require at least one trip to the nether. I've got some more mining ahead of me to do that. And I hope to visit as many Terralith biomes as possible.

Playing Minecraft 1.18.1 with Optifine and Sildurs Shaders Enhanced Basic, plus Terralith 2.0.4 for enhanced world generation with many new biomes.
