Libya: UN, US Call For Emergency Talks Over Central Bank & Oilfields Shutdown | Firstpost Africa

Libya's rival administrations continue to escalate the violent contest over the central bank head. The United Nations and the United States have urged all stakeholders to engage in dialogue. The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has called for an emergency meeting of the Benghazi-based eastern administration headed by Khalifa Haftar and the Tripoli-based western administration headed by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah. On Monday, Khalifa Haftar's administration suspended operations at all oilfields and export terminals. Tripoli wants the Central Bank Governor Sadiq Al-Kabir ousted, but Benghazi opposes the decision. Watch this video for details.
