Every year, Bryan Health celebrates employees for their years of service to the organization.

Larry Krebsbach is the manager of infection prevention at Bryan Health. He's been with the organization for 45 years. Larry began his career at Bryan as a part-time employee in environmental services in 1978. In his current role, he oversees the implementation of policies to help control or stop the spread of infections in the health care setting.

Larry has been instrumental in Bryan's response to the COVID-19 pandemic over the last several years. Interestingly, he began his career in health care at the start of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Now, as he hits the later stages of his career, he's dealing with another infectious agent in COVID-19.

"In our profession, you have to be prepared for this kind of thing. But you are hoping eternally that it will never occur. Unfortunately, it did happen. The joy about this job is that we truly interact with every department in the medical center. Even more rewarding is the fact that we can put some things in place that save lives across the entire contiuum. That is the part that is super-rewarding for me."
