This 1985 documentary recounts the history and current circumstances of off-reservation American Indian boarding schools. It features a number of indigenous scholars, some with personal experience with such schools. Presented by The Kickapoo Nation School, the program was produced by University of Kansas anthropologists Don Stull and Jerry Schultz; directed by Dave Kendall; and narrated by Kirby Kimble (Ponca). The program was previously distributed by the University of California Extension Media Center.
