Track 05 from Avalon - The Final Move (Disc 2)

The Ancient Part I was written in the dark days of NWOBHM in the early days of the twin guitar line up. In those days we rehearsed on a farm and made our demo's among the cows. The Ancient part II (search for the Paragon) was a sequel but officially recorded earlier at the Studio of Dieter Dircks in Pullheim Germany. In those days the virtuoso Keyboard player Giovanni Pileri and me, Jack Pisters, were living in the same house in the Hague and we're totally going crazy with more & more complex stuff with influences from the Neoclassical shredding, bands like Saga and tech-oriented rock and beyond. The week at Dierks studios is full of funny stories and great memories. especially Gert Rautenbach was such a positive force and allowed me to record day and night at the end of the session to complete the crazy work within a deadline. Speaker cabinets from #RudolfSchenker and many thanks to Giovanni for staying awake or sleeping at the SSL Board:) Final recordings with Richard BG Muermans who wanted to go a less rock-oriented direction with his music! Luckily we're still in touch and even did a tour to launch the Final Move overview CD.
