It might be a suprise to some of my viewers but this album is a real banger. I didn't really plan on doing a video of this song, as there is an official playthrough out already, but one thing led to another and I just transcribed it.

I figured I should make a tab so people can learn it if they are interested. It's a fun song for sure. And I also want to know if I get more clicks if I provide a tab haha.

So I currently have D'addario 12-60 on my GIO and I tried a few different tunings over the last couple of weeks. It was originally set up for C Standard, as my Defeated Sanity guitar. But neither C Standard nor Drop A# are tunings I'm personally interested in. After listening to this album and because I wanted to write some lower/chunkier stuff I first tried Drop A/B Standard. The lowest string was a bit too loose, but it felt great on B. So I just tried Drop B and really like it with that setup.

I also wanted to try out a few new impulse responses, as well as using a graphic equalizer as a boost instead of a tubescreamer. (I like the tightness of a tubescreamer, but not the color it adds). The amp model is the Recto New in the Axe Fx which I also wanted to try out.

I actually didn't dial in the tone with this song in mind. Just some chunky Drop B tone. I tried keeping post-eq to a mininum for the main rhythm tone. So just a little bass cut and some harsh frequencies at 3.3kHz. All the other tones were done in post with that main rhythm guitar sound. Just some delay and reverb with a different EQ. Impulse response was one from an ML Sound Zilla Cab pack.

You'll probably see some more covers from me in the near future. I'm currently in a small rut (actually slightly bigger than usual lol), so those covers help(ed) me being productive and getting something done. When I tried out the new writing schedule I noticed I have a down-phase every 4-6 weeks. That's when I'm neither feeling creative nor feeling like touching the guitar. It's usually just for a week or two, so that's not that bad. If I stay productive, even if it's something else, it's quite easy to transition back to the old routine.

That's what I experienced this year. So every few weeks I feel like making some covers. That should be the answer to all the people asking "didn't you want to take break from covering?".

I'll probably upload one or two videos next week. One was already filmed, but I'm not sure about uploading it.

That's all for now. Sorry if you don't get the usual ass-long description about some random subject this time. Don't feel like it today :(

Enjoy the video with that slightly sloppy ending nevertheless :)

(And get that album! It's awesome.)
