Paul Carlson has a horrible problem. A fragment from a meteorite has lodged in his skull; when the moon is full the fragment causes him to transform into a murderous beast. Screenwriters Bill Finger (best known for his work on the Batman comic book) and Charles Sinclair (The Green Slime) conjure a tale that includes everything from Native American legends to NASA brain surgeons. Meanwhile, an expert on folklore believes the answer to the dilemma can be found in an ancient painting. But can he solve the riddle before Paul combusts?
