President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the nationwide celebration of 'Araw ng Kalayaan' in commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood with a flag raising ceremony at the Rizal Park Monument followed by a civic and military parade at the Quirino Grandstand in the City of Manila on June 12, 2023.

The occasion highlights the unveiling of a special commemorative stamp by Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Luis D. Carlos of the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost).

Meanwhile, featured in the military parade are uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
The marquee parade also showcases the AFP's modern firepower and assets to demonstrate the country's enhanced territorial defense capability by the military. These include four (4) ground-based air defense systems surface-to-air missiles, two (2) Autonomous Truck-Mounted Howitzer Systems 155 mm self-propelled artillery, two (2) A-29B Super Tucanos, one (1) AH-1S Cobra attack helicopter, two (2) Blackhawks and two (2) AW-109 naval helicopters taking to the skies.
Likewise, a total of 34 motorized or mechanized assets will join a division-sized marching troops while 26 aircraft will cruise over Manila as part of the fly-by contingent.
With the theme, 'Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.,' this year's celebration emphasizes the freedom that our forebears struggled for, the future they dreamed of for the country, and the history through which we seek to remember and honor them.
