Michal Bazalik is a local wine producer in Svätý Jur, just 30 minutes away from the city of Bratislava. Svätý Jur is a picturesque small town settled above the vineyards of Little Carpathian mountains, located only 15 kilometres north from Bratislava city centre. The winery visit in the Little Carpathian wine region was combined with a walk into the vineyards and up to a medieval castle ruin above the town of Svätý Jur. This 4-hour tour immersed students in the production of old world wines and a visit to a 100-year old vineyard, which took them away from the city into the real countryside. The charming atmosphere of this winery together with medieval castle ruins of Biely Kameň and wine production make it a perfect destination for a 2-hour hike. This private wine tasting was personally conducted by local wine producer Michal Bazalik in his renaissance wine cellar and his own vineyards. All of the wines are high quality Slovak wines from Michal’s own vineyards, specializing in rosé and white wines.
